Zamlight Manufacturing Limited is a leader in delivering high-quality products and services. We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team and contribute to maintaining accurate financial operations and compliance with regulations.

Job Title: Accountant
Reports To: Financial Consultant

Job Summary:
The Accountant will maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using
accounting software and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record-Keeping: Accurately record financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and journal entries, using accounting software.

Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage supplier invoices, process payments,
and oversee customer receipts.

Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure
accuracy.

General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and complete general ledger accounts.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, company policies, and
internal controls.

Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and
analyses.

Audit Support: Facilitate external audits by providing all necessary
documentation and support.

Process Improvement: Propose enhancements to financial processes for
greater efficiency and accuracy.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Accurate and timely financial records.
Successful completion of external audits.
Timely and effective financial reporting.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Pastel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Basic computer skills, especially MS OLice.

Soft Skills:

  • Attention to detail and high accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, or certifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping and accounting roles.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) is
    mandatory.
